PVCICS Middle School Students Win Top Prizes in Science Competition

April 15, 2026 - Three Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion Charter School (PVCICS) middle school teams won Grand Prize, First Prize and Second Prize in the Western MA Science and Engineering Fair (WMSEF) held on April 15, 2026.  The teams will head to the Middle School State Competition in May.

Six 8th graders and two 7th graders competed on three different teams. Each team worked on a different science topic and their middle school science faculty advisor encouraged them to do research beyond the classroom.  “Our middle school science program is always fostering a sense of curiosity that compels students to think about scientific research and experimentation. We’re very proud of the three teams that participated.” said Kathleen Wang, Principal.

PVCICS is a tuition-free regional public charter school located in Hadley, Massachusetts.

It enrolls almost 600 K-12th grade students from over 30 communities in the Pioneer
