PVCICS students love to read, and our goal is to continue to foster and support that interest with a variety of events and programs. These include:

  • Annual Battle of the Books reading and trivia competition for 3rd-5th grade students

  • Annual middle school Battle of the Books program (spring semester)

  • November 1 author visit for elementary school students: Britt Crow-Miller, author of World of Rot

  • December 5 book fair at Barnes & Noble in Hadley - paired with a dinner fundraiser at neighboring Panera Bread. All proceeds from these fundraisers will go toward purchasing new books for our collection.

  • January 10 author visit for upper elementary school students: Shawn Peters, author of The Unforgettable Logan Foster

  • Student book reviews 

  • Devoted Dragon stewardship of the library

 

May 2025 News:

  • May will see the middle school Battle of the Books tournament.

April 2025 News:

  • April 4th will be our 3-5 division Battle of the Books final championship battle.

  • April 12th will be the elementary school Battle of the Books regional championship.

January 2025 News:

  • Our Middle School division of the Battle of the Books started.

  • Jan. 10 we had Shawn Peters, author of the MCBA and Battle of the Books title, The Unforgettable Logan Foster visit 4th grade.

  • The Community Time team has arranged for author Britt Crow-Miller to come to talk with K-5 students about her book: World of Rot: learn all about the wriggly, slimy, super-cool decomposers we couldn't live without
